Scotch coffee with vanilla ice cream
Ingredients for 1 person: 40 ml of whiskey (Scotch or Irish), 120 ml of coffee (can be espresso, Italian coffee maker or French press), 60g vanilla ice cream and toppings to decorate.
The first thing is to choose where we want to present our coffee. It is recommended to use a large mug or tall cocktail glass so that all the ingredients look well differentiated and space is not a problem.
Next, we add the whiskey first and then the freshly brewed coffee. In fact, it would be ideal to heat the mixture a little to flambé and thus improve its flavor. Now, depending on tastes, we can add a little sweetener, whether sugar or stevia, to give it an even sweeter touch.
With the infusion already prepared, add the vanilla ice cream and to make the presentation completely spectacular you can add a few toppings such as chopped almonds or hazelnuts, a cookie or a wafer to top the ice cream. Accompany it with a long or dessert spoon for those with a sweet tooth.
Irish coffee with cream
Ingredients for 1 person: 80 ml of coffee, 40 ml of whiskey, 40 ml of heavy cream (or whipped cream failing that), 15 g. of sugar (white or brown to taste) and cinnamon or cocoa powder to decorate.
Once you have chosen the container, we recommend a long and wide glass so that all the ingredients are defined and layered, we heat some water just to warm it up. With the glass already hot, pour the coffee and then pour it into a separate container. We heat the whiskey with the sugar. It can also be flambéed, but, again, it is a matter of taste.
Then we prepare the whipped cream or whipped cream. Remember that if you decide to use cream, it is preferable that it has been in the refrigerator a few hours before to make it easier. We will use a whisk to do it manually or a mixer to whip at minimum speed. A trick to help it assemble faster is to add a little sugar. To present it, first remove the water that has previously been heating the glass and then add the coffee, whiskey and cream; everything in this order.
